Konzertbericht Wolf Records Mojo Blues Band
Friday, August 21, 2015
Since 5 years I live in Hollabrunn in the northern part of Austria, there have been many music events mostly country music but never real blues. But on Friday 8pm Hollabrunn was ready for the Blues: Erik Trauner & The Mojo Blues Band started with down-home Chicago Blues for what they are famous! Great slide guitar, great piano licks in the style of Otis Spann and a great stage-presence with great talking to the audience. Then Erik switched from guitar to blues harp and Siggi Fassl sang a great Sonny Boy Williams title. They also played: She’s A Hot Mamacita; Wild, Wild Woman; Jack Daniels & Johnny Walker; The Crawl; Blow Wind, Blow Wind and I Ain’t Funny That Way. The surprise was that after 35 years the sound was fresh as ever.
After the break they played West Coast Style (T-Bone Walker) and then the Mojo Blues Band played for me my favourite Muddy Waters title: You Can’t Lose What You Ain’t Never Had – with great slide & piano playing. Yeah, Hollabrunn got the blues! – HF
